Easy Hula Skirt Craft

This is a great and fun Hula shirt craft so your girl can hula dance anytime.

Materials:

  • card stock or poster board
  • colored cellophane tape
  • scissors
  • stapler
  • rubber bands

Directions:

  1. Cut a length of poster board about 3 inches wide and just a little shorter than can fit around the child's waist.
  2. Fold the strip in half lengthwise or durability.
  3. Tie 2 rubber bands together.
  4. Fold the poster board strip in half.
  5. Fold down the ends of the strip, insert both ends of the rubber band and staple the strip closed at the ends. This will make the elastic. Now you have a paper hoop belt.
  6. Cut lengths of colorful cellophane tape about 20 inches long.
  7. Tie the tape around the belt.
  8. Cut o tear the lengths of tape into smaller strips to make a colorful grass skirt.
  9. Put on your hula skirt and dance.

  1. THe hula skirt looks really good on her hah. Easy to make too. Gonna host a costume party and wondering what theme to go for. Maybe a variety one which allow more creativity for the kids to venture on when they make their own costumes.
